Roy G Biv Continued

Slowly but surely I'm getting my craft area in order! To help with the organization I purchased (using a 40% off coupon - never buy anything without it at Michael's) a wooden thread holder. I love the look of bare wood, but I decided to paint a peg board and the thread holder a jade color. I used this Kylon spray paint and it's pretty awesome. The paint nozzle is adjustable and works well. Plus the paint dries in 10 minutes! I didn't believe it at first, but it's true!

I put on 3 coats because I like to be extra sure I got it all.
And here it is all painted and holding thread!
I put them in roy g biv order, but there's only 6 rows, so indigo got the boot!
Poor indigo, but it's basically blue.

I think it turned out pretty nice! Now I can't wait to make stuff!

A bit more roy g biv (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet) for you!
Now you'll never forget the colors of the rainbow :)
Any ideas for organizing ribbon?

Roy G Biv

I've started a Roy G Biv crocheted blanket, or the rainbow blanket!
Now I am very curious if you do or do not know what Roy G Biv is! I'm not sure when I learned this, if it was at school or if my dad taught me, I just know I know it now. Roy G Biv is just an easy mnemonic way to remember the 7 colors in a rainbow/visible spectrum. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet.

I started with red of course.

I ended in violet. Now I think I'll reverse the colors and continue!

Here it is so far!
Crafts + Learning = LOVE (to me)
I bet you didn't know Epcot is my favorite Disney park, wanna know why, because you get to learn while at a theme park! Sometimes I try crafts with my little cousins that have a little learning in them and they don't even know it! Tricky tricky!

Take Skittles, what's their catch phrase, Taste the Rainbow? Well Skittles are NOT a complete rainbow, they are missing Indigo - whompwhomp! Plus I had to buy the Crazy Core Skittles to get these 6 colors. I ate more Skittles today then I have in 15 years, I could barf a rainbow right now lol sorry that's gross, but true. Too much sugar -blah!
Tell me where you learned Roy G Biv in the comments please! I'm curious!
More color fun -CMYK. I could do this all day!

Thank you for the sweet thoughts to my mom!
She's a tough cookie and hopefully she'll be better in no time!

Quick Hello!

The Gold Feather necklaces by Freshy Fig came in the mail! I love them SO much! I bought them as bff necklaces for my sister and I, but then I decided our mom needed one for Mother's Day. Some times I have a problem with waiting to give people gifts, plus our poor mom has been in the hospital for the last week I gave her the necklace early! She loved it!! My sister comes to Tampa Thursday and she'll get her bff necklace then!
Honestly, the necklaces were better/prettier than I imagined! Amanda over at Freshy Fig was super helpful too!! If you are looking for a Mother's Day gift you should look there!
As you see I haven't been very crafty lately, but soon once my lil Mags (mom) is all healed up I'll be back to craftin'! Plus a giveaway soon!

Tick tock

I don't own a watch. But I sure do LOVE wall clocks. In my parents' home (house they've had since before they were married) the ONE thing that has never changed spots is this old wooden clock on the wall. Half the time I think it's an hour ahead or behind lol, but it's never been moved. They've rearranged that house a zillion times, but the clock is still there in it's spot! In some strange way it's a nice permanence in my life, a symbol of my parents being together for so many years, everything changing around them, but they stay the same :)

Here is my most favorite clock on etsy by andfurthermore.
I just think it's very perfect and pretty!

New Vintage Cuckcoo Clock on Renegade Handmade by decoylab.

Green Splat Bamboo with Red Modern Wall Clock by pilotdesign on etsy.

And this little orange alarm clock from thesundaytimesmarket on etsy.
I mostly love it because it's orange!
Can you think of an item in your life that has been there all your life?

Wire Origami Crane

I have to share this very wonderful wire origami crane with you all! The other day at work I was talking about and somehow this photo came up. So Dave from work went home and made a smaller version of the metal crane. Isn't it really awesome!? I freaked out when he showed me! I like it so much! I told him I'd trade him WTF and STFU pillows for a big metal crane! I think it's a deal! Or I need to get a blow torch and make my own metal crane! I foresee 3rd degree burns if I did that!

I hope you all have the best weekend! Go outside and enjoy!
oh and ps I have 300 followers - that's insane!!! I LOVE your comments SO much!
I have a very cute giveaway in mind for you 300 wonderful followers! Coming soon!

get flockn'

I've been wanting to do more flocking crafts, since I make a flocked Christmas card.

A bit ago I fell in love with Silje's Animal Prints and before I got them I knew I wanted to put them in oval frames. So I found some oval frames, they're just cheap plastic ones, not so pretty!
I decided to flock the frames!! I have some trusty Tacky Spray, which I love!
Then Martha's wonderful flocking powder! The powder comes in very bright colors!
Now I do not have a flocking gun, which lays the flocking powder down perfectly, so I just pour it on! You can keep using the excess powder over and over.
I put two coats of powder on and will probably do it a few more times before I hang them up!
Oh and do this outside, I did not and it was a bad decision :) *edit: do it outside only if it's not windy or else flocking will be everywhere!*
What do you think?! I like it! I want to flock some more! Any ideas?

Dun dun dunnys!

A gift from my friend Andrea! She doesn't understand my love of dunnys, but she supports it :)
This is the Kathie Olivias Dunny from the Femme Fatal Series. I loved her last dunny so much it was cute and rotten and flocked! All her stuff is so awesome!! Go take a look at her custom Misery Children. She's a fellow USF-er, the college I went to for awhile lol
Here is my dunny collection, well most of them at least! I should count them! And new dunnys are coming out soon! What do you collect? Watches? Elephants? Lambs?

ps - this was on my sister's "favorites" list
if Mickey were a real live boy
(like pinocchio) this would be him!
I love this so much!

Happy Earth Day to you!

When I think of Earth Day I think of my lil sister Lauren. She's no waster! Her car is fuel efficient, she recycles, she gives me a hard time (in a loving way) about working at print company (then I explain we recycle and it's fine-ish). Lauren is my lil free spirit, earth savin', tree huggin' sister! I love you Lo! I found this very pretty hand painted Mushrooms in Love by Rachel at Talk2TheTrees! Thought you'd love it! I do!
Also for Earth Day, Heidi Kenney over at MyPaperCrane make a Dirty Dozen Cheat Sheet!
Print it out and take it with you every time you go to the grocery store! Buy organic!!!! And don't feed your kids fast food or SUPER processed food- please! Ok enough soap box today.

A Earth Day note to my Dad, Larbear, can you please help/make this stool for/with me!? It's pretty awesome! Or if we found a really large stump (he has a bunch in their backyard) we could make a coffee table! I'm full of ideas, I just need your help and expertise to make those ideas tangible creations! :) So deal?
A very cute Earth Day decorating idea, which I first saw on Katie's site, tea tin flower vases. Martha must of have seen it, because it was on her site today!
Have a lovely day - thanks to the Earth :)

Not a lean, mean fighting machine

Mickey doesn't believe in exercise, why should he? He gets treats for being cute and precious. Outside is hot with all that fur and the cars go too fast.

Someone once told me it's ok if your pup is fat as long as they're happy, but I don't. I would like him to live forever, so I'm starting to walk him. He's not too thrilled about it.
But look how thrilled he is to be finished with his walk!! He's stoked!
But Mickey isn't alone, I find it so difficult to get excited about exercise! But I have to! There was this time period when I would go to the gym every night, I loved it! But now I'd rather crochet or sew. I need to find a balance! 1. For the 3 day in October and 2. Just for better well being and staying healthy and 3. I drink way too many tasty frappachinos. So fluorescent pink sports bra -CHECK! gym membership -CHECK! more water less diet coke - MAYBE! walks with my fat pup -CHECK!
What do you do to stay in shape? Vitamins?

Don't be scare.......

......of a little color! No one likes dull, sad walls!

Look how pretty!

Greens and blues are good bedroom colors.
They're calming and happy all at once!

I'll compromise with a lack of color in the kitchen. White cabinets look clean and bright!
And perfect with stainless steel appliances, don't you think ;)

If you agree PLEASE comment :)
And if you have any bright ideas please let me know!

I wanna join the circus!

This weekend my Uncle Matt was in town and he always has the BEST stories to share. This time he told us Robbie, my 6 year old cousin announced he wants to join the circus. He wanted to know if there is a circus college he could attend. He is a nut! He has a very deep voice for a 6 old year, and every word he chooses is very precis. He is dead serious about the circus Matt said! I plan on encouraging this circus idea completely! Growing up in Tampa, I loved learning all about the crazy carnival folk across the Bay in Gibsonton, Florida. I was fascinated with the movie FREAKS! Also the book Freaks is wonderful, telling the stories of the circus performers in the early 1900's. Also when we were younger (8 or 9), we'd take two ladders and a huge wooden beam and make a tightrope in the backyard. It had to be 6 feet up! We'd run across or do jumps off, but then we had to stop when someone broke their arm -whompwhomp. So, maybe my family just needs to have a circus Halloween again ;) Maybe a circus birthday for Robbie!
Any ideas? ;)
Here are a bunch of my favorite circus items on etsy!

Birds of a Feather

I've been missing my siblings quite a bit lately! My brother, Danny goes to school in Tallahassee at FSU and my sister, Lauren goes to Vanderbilt in Nashville TN. Luckily we are all very close and talk 4 or 5 times a week and text everyday! I saw these "friends forever" necklaces over the weekend, you know the ones that are hearts and they are broke in half. You keep one half and give the other half to your best friend. Well my sister and I have this little on going joke/tease, where she says she's my best friend, and I say sisters trump best friends, and we go back and forth, ruffling each others feathers if you will. So the best friend necklace was a bit lame, plus it only had one chain - strange right?
So I found this feather necklace on etsy by Freshy Fig and asked if I could purchase two; one for me and one for Lo! I dubbed it our "birds of a feather bffff aeaeae necklaces" and obviously I can't keep surprises because I already told her all about it! :) Sorry Danny I figured you wouldn't wear something so dainty ;) plus I made you a friendship bracelet - Remember?!!
So you like it? Birds of a Farley Feather :)

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Ikea was just what I thought it would be - CRAZY! Though I only spent a tiny bit of monies and got 3 shelves and this cool wire basket thing! I can't wait for my craft area to be finished :)

Is this what Snow White felt like?

Just Spring cleaning and gathering things up for the new craft area :) Still looking for craft room ideas! Maybe a trip to Ikea over the weekend - though Ikea and I don't mix! It's a LOT to handle! It's sensory overload! Kids screaming, people on cell phones bumping into you, the crazy maze of STUFF - crazy! lol Wish me luck!

Look at this precious little faces!
Pretty cute right!? Or alien like, whichever.
But not as cute as MICKEY the wonder pup!
Please note the first picture is Mickey at Starbucks and the second is him on my lap!
He needs a hair cut so bad! But no groomers for Mick, I just trim him. When I was young we had two Maltese girl pups, and they were TERRIFIED of the groomers, so I'll never take Mick.
I hope you all have a very wonderful weekend! Hoping to get some sunshine! Also a huge HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated so far!! It means so much to me! Thank you!

Team Save Second Base

Hello Everyone!!
As I told you all yesterday, my good friend, Kristin and I are walking in the Susan G Komen 3-Day for the Cure in Washington DC in October! I am very excited! I am part of team Save Second Base :) pretty cute right?! I need to fundraise quite a bit of money, I was never a girl scout so I'm new at this! So here's my idea - you all can purchase these "iPads" which my wonderful work,, donated and I will donate ALL the money to the Susan G Komen 3 Day! So it's a win win!! You get awesome iPads and I reach my fundraising goal! Throughout the summer I will have more items to purchase and I'll donate that money as well!
You can purchase 3 iPads......of paper for $15.00 which includes shipping!
Right at the top of the page is a Paypal button, click on that and it will let you donate the $15.00 and I will ship out your iPads! Don't forget to give me your shipping address!
Also if you would like to donate directly at the Susan G Koman site, you can donate in my name, which is Rebecca Farley. I was only ever called Rebecca on the first day of school or if I was in trouble lol but that's how you'll find me!! And if you have 3 free days in October you should seriously consider joining team Save Second Base!! I'm 100% serious! Ask me more about it if you are interested - DC is a beautiful city in October!
I'm pumped about this walk! My aunt Teddie (great aunt) is a breast cancer survivor!! I'm walking for her, she's a tough cookie! She's a nutty southern belle, once she tried to wipe my tattoos off with her thumb and saliva, like a mom who wipes food off their kid's face. I love her very much!

Thank you all for your sweet comments in yesterday's post!! Thank you thank you!!
And thank you for helping Save Second Base ;)
